Software Engineer
Senior Designer responsible for leading component engineering, applying DFMA principles and advanced CAD tools to create high‑quality, manufacturable designs while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver prototypes and proof‑of‑concept solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to gather, clarify, and prioritize design requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer expectations.
- Lead the creation of detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using industry‑standard CAD software, incorporating DFMA best practices to optimize manufacturability and cost.
- Develop prototypes and proof‑of‑concept assemblies, conduct functional testing, and iterate designs based on feedback and performance data.
- Perform component analysis, tolerance stack‑up, and material selection to guarantee reliability and compliance with engineering standards.
- Maintain design documentation, version control, and design review records to support seamless handoff to manufacturing and quality teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in component design and DFMA.
- Proficiency in CAD platforms (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA) and strong hands‑on experience creating manufacturable designs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop prototypes, conduct testing, and iterate designs rapidly.
- Solid understanding of material properties, tolerance analysis, and production processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams.
