About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize relational database schemas and data models to support disease surveillance and reporting.
- Build, maintain, and improve ETL pipelines and data warehousing solutions, ensuring data quality and performance.
- Lead migration from legacy Electronic Disease Surveillance System to the new platform, including data mapping, validation, and cut‑over planning.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, create technical specifications, and deliver data‑driven solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning; mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SQL development, data modeling, and database performance optimization.
- Proficiency with ETL tools and scripting languages, preferably Python.
- Hands‑on experience with data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms such as AWS (Redshift, S3, Glue).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex data migration projects and improve data pipelines.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
