Lead database administration for high‑availability systems, optimizing performance, ensuring data integrity, and managing backup, recovery, and security across PostgreSQL and Oracle platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable PostgreSQL and Oracle database environments to support mission‑critical applications.
- Monitor database performance, analyze bottlenecks, and apply tuning techniques to achieve optimal throughput and low latency.
- Plan and execute backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies, ensuring minimal data loss and rapid restoration.
- Configure and manage replication, clustering, and high‑availability solutions to guarantee continuous uptime.
- Implement robust security controls, including access management, encryption, and audit logging.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to optimize database schemas, queries, and deployment pipelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience administering PostgreSQL and Oracle databases in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
- Hands‑on experience with backup/restore, replication, and high‑availability architectures.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools and scripting (Bash, Python).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
