Senior Database Administrator responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise‑grade relational databases, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and robust backup/recovery across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise relational database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) to support critical government applications.
- Monitor and tune database performance, implementing indexing, partitioning, and query optimization strategies.
- Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures to meet RTO/RPO objectives.
- Automate routine administration tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and other scripting tools.
- Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to ensure database security, compliance, and scalability.
- Provide on‑call support and incident resolution for database‑related issues.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience administering Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases in large‑scale environments.
- Strong expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and high‑availability architectures.
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems and automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Experience implementing backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery solutions.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) preferred.
