Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Snowflake and Oracle databases for a high‑volume financial services platform, ensuring performance, reliability, and security across a distributed data ecosystem.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Snowflake and Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Optimize query performance, index strategy, and storage usage to meet stringent SLAs.
- Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery plans, including automated testing.
- Enforce security best practices: encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to support data pipelines and reporting workloads.
Requirements
- 5+ years of database administration experience, with deep expertise in Snowflake and Oracle.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
- Proven track record in backup/restore, high‑availability, and disaster‑recovery implementations.
- Solid understanding of database security, compliance, and data governance.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
