Senior Data Scientist - Teledyne FLIR

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine‑learning models for high‑impact applications in aerospace, defense, and industrial automation.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and feature stores on AWS, ensuring data quality and reproducibility.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to translate domain problems into analytical solutions and integrate models into production systems.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and hypothesis testing to uncover actionable insights.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best‑practice standards for model governance, documentation, and performance monitoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in data science or machine learning, preferably in aerospace, defense, or industrial sectors.
• Strong proficiency in Python and deep‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and building production‑grade data pipelines (e.g., AWS S3, Lambda, Glue, Airflow).
• Solid understanding of statistical methods, experimental design, and data visualization tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work autonomously, and strong communication for presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
