Senior Data Scientist responsible for maintaining, recalibrating and optimizing production models for retail panels, with a focus on model performance, accuracy and stability in Pacific markets using statistical and machine‑learning techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, update and recalibrate production models for retail panels, ensuring long‑term stability and accuracy.
- Develop new models for missing retailers, both inside and outside the existing system, and transition them to statistical operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement quality‑control processes to guarantee model compliance and reliability.
- Perform continuous model improvement through feature engineering, hyper‑parameter tuning and validation on point‑of‑sale data.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and provide actionable insights.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience building and maintaining production‑grade machine‑learning or statistical models.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, modeling and automation.
- Strong SQL skills for extracting and manipulating large POS datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor model performance, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions in a production environment.
