SENIOR, DATA SCIENTIST
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to apply AI methods across the automotive industry. This role involves collaborating with business partners to solve problems using massive datasets, from ideation to product release. Responsibilities include developing and deploying data science applications, guiding junior team members, and applying machine learning and deep learning techniques.

The application of Artificial Intelligence methods has found its way into all areas of the automotive industry and contributes to further improving our products and processes. We are looking for a senior data scientist that will collaborate with Mercedes’ internal business partners to solve problems that involve massive data sets and will be involved from ideation through to product release. We drive and support innovation by working with data. The data comes from humans and machines.
- Predicting the collision of vehicles by featurising the actionable parameters
- Building autonomous driving systems: using applications of Deep learning techniques like RNN , LSTM , CNN (FAST R-CNN, YOLO, SSD)
- Predicting Downtime of the vehicles
- Text Data analysis using NLP techniques like Word Embeddings, LSTMs., CBOW techniques
- Image Detection and Classification use cases using conventional techniques and deep learning techniques
Main Responsibilities
- Develops and deploys applications based on data science models by designing, developing, testing and installing software solutions using any of C#, Python OR Java
- Solve Data Science use cases independently and should be able to guide junior team-members across multiple use cases
- Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques like Neural Net, Regression, Classification, SVM, CNN , RNN and NLP techniques to conduct insightful research and build projects that leverage internal, third-party, and public data
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in the following:Machine Learning tools such as Python, Tensor flow, Keras etc.
- Experience working with Spark and Microsoft Azure
- Must have end-end hands-on experience in delivering & implementing big data analytics in production. Must have skills, such as Synthesizing data, defining the problem, feature engineering, building the model, deploying the same in production.
- Ability to work closely with others to execute projects rapidly in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Experience in championing effective technologies and persuading stakeholders
- Experience in turning research ideas into actionable designs and prototype
