Lead advanced analytics for market supervision, applying Python, R, and statistical modeling to detect risks, build predictive models, and support regulatory policy decisions in a senior data science role.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement machine‑learning models to identify market abuse, systemic risk, and emerging trends.
- Analyse large, complex datasets using Python, R, and SQL to produce actionable insights for policy and supervision.
- Develop statistical and econometric models that support regulatory decision‑making and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including economists, engineers, and policy experts, to translate analytical findings into practical regulatory actions.
- Communicate results through clear visualisations, dashboards, and written reports for senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience building and deploying machine‑learning or statistical models in a financial or regulatory environment.
- Proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation, modelling, and visualisation, and strong SQL querying skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large, structured and unstructured datasets and to communicate complex analytical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with risk analytics, market surveillance, or financial regulation is highly desirable.
