Senior Data Scientist - General Dynamics Information Technology

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end machine‑learning pipelines to solve complex, mission‑critical problems for government clients.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business objectives into data‑driven solutions and measurable outcomes.
• Develop scalable data processing workflows on cloud environments (e.g., AWS) handling terabytes of structured and unstructured data.
• Perform statistical analysis, feature engineering, and model validation to ensure robustness and compliance with federal standards.
• Mentor junior data scientists and promote best practices in code quality, reproducibility, and documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics, preferably in a federal or large‑enterprise setting.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands‑on experience using libraries such as scikit‑learn, pandas, and TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying machine‑learning models on AWS (e.g., SageMaker, EMR, Lambda).
• Strong foundation in statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and influence decision‑making.
