Senior Data Scientist who partners with engineering teams to design, implement, and analyze rigorous evaluations of search and AI features, using Python, statistical modeling, and large‑scale data pipelines to drive product impact for hundreds of millions of users.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute large‑scale A/B tests and offline evaluations to measure search relevance, recommendation quality, and AI feature performance.
- Develop statistical models and machine‑learning pipelines in Python to surface actionable insights from petabyte‑scale datasets.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and UX teams to translate evaluation results into concrete product improvements and roadmap decisions.
- Build dashboards and visualizations that communicate complex metrics clearly to stakeholders across the organization.
- Maintain and optimize data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using SQL and cloud data platforms.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience applying statistical analysis, machine‑learning techniques, and experimental design to real‑world product problems.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn) and strong SQL querying skills.
- Demonstrated ability to design, run, and interpret large‑scale A/B tests and offline evaluation frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of presenting data‑driven recommendations to cross‑functional teams.
