About the Role
SIA Group is seeking multiple Senior Data Scientists to spearhead its AI, data science, and business analytics initiatives. This role involves being a key member of an in-house AI and data science development team, working on advanced machine learning techniques, mathematical optimization, game theory, and experimental design. You will be instrumental in creating impactful and intelligent features/services, deploying scalable ML/DL solutions as API microservices, and collaborating closely with business stakeholders and application development teams.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of an in-house AI and data science development team focusing on machine learning (including NLP, computer vision, and recommender systems using deep learning methods), mathematical optimization, game theory, and experimental design.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to develop impactful and intelligent features/services in AI, data science, and data analytics.
- Propose and build scalable ML/DL solutions and deploy them as API microservices for use by software applications and business users to facilitate faster and more effective decision-making.
- Oversee the technical work of external technology partners, provide necessary datasets, and support business users in the assessment, validation, and production deployment of partner-supplied prediction models.
- Assist business units in creating Tableau dashboards using relevant datasets and extract insights through data visualization.
- Partner with application development teams to operationalize and integrate AI/ML capabilities into API microservices.
Requirements
- Education: BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related discipline is required. PhD and MS degrees related to machine learning and other AI disciplines are preferred.
- Programming Skills: Advanced proficiency in Python. Conversant with algorithm design/analysis, data structures, and SQL. Familiarity with functional/object-oriented software development using modern programming languages such as Scala, JavaScript, Java, and C# is a plus.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in two or more of the following areas:
- Intermediate-level hands-on skills in shallow machine learning or information retrieval. Exposure to GPU-accelerated deep learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow and PyTorch) for advanced AI work is a plus.
- Knowledge and working experience with workflow, map-reduce, or stream processing systems such as Spark and Kafka.
- Familiarity with Bayesian statistics and inference. Exposure to the application of Bayesian and causal networks for probabilistic reasoning is a plus.
- Knowledge and working experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Cloud Experience: Some hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or similar public cloud environments.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal & communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical staff and non-technical business users.
- Methodologies: Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies is a plus.
