Senior Data Scientist - Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy predictive models and machine‑learning pipelines to support clinical, operational, and financial decision‑making.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business problems into data‑driven solutions and define measurable success metrics.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modeling on large, heterogeneous healthcare datasets.
• Implement scalable data pipelines and model serving infrastructure using cloud services such as AWS.
• Communicate insights and recommendations through clear visualizations and storytelling for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience building and productionizing machine‑learning models, preferably in the healthcare or insurance domain.
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and strong SQL querying skills.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization/orchestration tools for model deployment.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
