About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Spark, and Airflow to support Firefly’s analytics, model engineering, and NLP teams.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (Finance, Credit, AI Analytics) to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
- Implement data quality, governance, and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliability and compliance across high‑stakes projects.
- Optimize performance and cost of data workflows on AWS, leveraging services such as S3, Redshift, and EMR.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in data engineering and machine learning operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data science roles, with a strong focus on pipeline development.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Apache Spark for large‑scale data processing.
- Hands‑on experience with Airflow, AWS services (S3, Redshift, EMR), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of machine learning workflows, model deployment, and NLP concepts.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, proactive initiative, and strong communication abilities.
