Senior Data Platform Engineer leading the design, implementation, and scaling of cloud‑native data pipelines and analytics infrastructure using Python, Java, AWS, and Kubernetes.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build highly scalable, fault‑tolerant data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store petabyte‑scale datasets.
- Develop and maintain core data platform services on AWS, leveraging services such as S3, Redshift, Snowflake, and Lambda.
- Containerize data workloads with Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes for reliable production deployment.
- Collaborate with product, security, and analytics teams to define data models, schemas, and access patterns.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning to ensure low‑latency data delivery and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building data platforms in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java, with a solid grasp of object‑oriented design.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL, data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and ETL/ELT tooling.
- Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for data workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to design scalable architectures, optimize performance, and ensure data security and compliance.
