Senior Data Governance Engineer responsible for designing and maintaining enterprise data quality, metadata, and compliance frameworks using SQL, Python, and AWS services to support a high‑volume sportsbook and fantasy sports platform.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards across the organization.
- Develop and manage metadata repositories and data catalogues to ensure data discoverability and lineage.
- Build and optimize ETL pipelines using SQL and Python, leveraging AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, and S3.
- Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to enforce data quality rules and resolve data issues.
- Monitor data quality metrics, generate reports, and recommend improvements to enhance data reliability.
- Lead data stewardship initiatives and provide training on governance best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and automation.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lake Formation).
- Knowledge of metadata management tools and data catalog solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
