At OZ we are looking for a Senior Data Governance Consultant who will: · Serve as the primary architect and leader for data governance initiatives, establishing standards, policies, and frameworks across a large-scale data integration project unifying up to 24 disparate sources in a single data cloud environment.
- Design, implement, and operationalize comprehensive data governance programs, including data quality, stewardship, lineage, access control, and documentation that empower clients to maintain and evolve their data assets independently.
- Collaborate closely with technical project leads, business stakeholders, and customer teams to translate operational requirements into actionable governance solutions, proactively clarifying dependencies and driving alignment.
- Set and enforce governance standards for the entire project team, including both internal and customer participants, ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance throughout the program lifecycle.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of governance artifacts, such as data dictionaries, stewardship models, KPI glossaries, and RACI matrices, facilitating handover and long-term sustainability for the client.
- Actively participate in project reviews, provide constructive feedback, and push back thoughtfully when risks or inefficiencies are identified, helping the team to pivot and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Mentor and guide team members on governance best practices, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented culture that reflects OZ Digital’s values: Evolve Constantly, Focus on Outcomes, Succeed Together, Stay Positive, and Lead with Empathy.
- Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and training to ensure smooth adoption of governance processes by all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Governance Expertise: 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing in Databricks, with relevant certifications. Proven ability to build, optimize, and troubleshoot production-grade ETL pipelines.
- Consulting Skills: Strong business acumen with the ability to understand operational requirements, translate them into governance deliverables, and communicate the business impact of decisions.
- Self-Starter: Demonstrated capacity to take initiative, work independently, and drive projects forward in ambiguous or evolving contexts.
- Governance Standards: Experience leading governance efforts, setting standards for teams, and collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Documentation: Expertise in developing governance documentation and frameworks, including data quality policies, stewardship models, and KPI definitions.
- Compliance and Control Mindset: Ability to provide valuable insights, challenge assumptions, and advocate for best practices, not just follow instructions.
