Seasoned Senior Data Engineer needed for a 3‑month contract to design, build, and operate real‑time data pipelines on AWS using DMS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and Kinesis.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, fault‑tolerant data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data across on‑premise and cloud sources.
- Leverage AWS DMS for change data capture and migration, and use AWS Lambda for serverless data processing.
- Build real‑time streaming solutions with Amazon Kinesis and monitor pipeline health with Amazon CloudWatch.
- Develop and maintain ETL jobs, ensuring data quality, consistency, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and infrastructure teams to deliver end‑to‑end data solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on AWS services.
- Hands‑on expertise with AWS DMS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and Kinesis for building and monitoring pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Java for ETL development.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning for large‑scale datasets.
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation or Terraform), and version control.
