Lead the design and implementation of a scalable ingestion layer for an analytics platform, architecting event pipelines, data models, and end‑to‑end solutions using Python, Airflow, Kafka, Snowflake, and AWS services.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build ingestion pipelines that pull event and reference data from diverse operational source systems into a clean, queryable analytics platform.
- Design event schemas, data models, and ETL processes, ensuring data quality, consistency, and performance.
- Prototype end‑to‑end pipelines on a single source, then scale solutions across the platform.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand analytics requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Mentor and shape a growing data engineering team, establishing best practices and coding standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building large‑scale ingestion and transformation pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Hands‑on experience with Kafka, Snowflake, and AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift).
- Deep understanding of data modeling, schema design, and ETL best practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive, autonomous work style.
