Senior Data Architect responsible for designing, governing, and evolving enterprise data architecture to support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives across DoD and internal stakeholders, leveraging cloud platforms and modern data engineering practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the enterprise data architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with business objectives.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards, metadata management, and data governance policies across all data domains.
- Lead the implementation of data warehousing, lakehouse, and real‑time analytics solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and AI/ML teams to create discoverable, well‑documented, and trustworthy data assets.
- Drive continuous improvement of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality frameworks.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data governance in complex, mission‑critical environments.
- Strong expertise with cloud data services (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, GCP BigQuery) and modern data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL/Big Data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark).
- Hands‑on experience designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders and drive architectural consensus.
