Job Summary
Under direction, interprets data to help organizations make informed decisions. Collects, processes, analyzes, and presents data in a concise format or presentation. Conducts research, analyzes complex statistical data, develops planning timetables, evaluates systems, policies, and procedures, and makes recommendations to achieve goals and objectives. May exercise functional or technical supervision over assigned staff. This position is funded by sales tax that has been approved by the citizens of San Antonio for a limited time period. This position, therefore, is subject to at-will employment status, and is unclassified and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. Essential Job Functions
- Collects, cleans, and analyzes data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Performs data analysis to help identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Applies statistical methods and data modeling techniques to interpret data and make predictions.
- Compiles and cleans databases and data collection systems for optimal data quality and efficiency.
- Designs reporting dashboards to translate data to an understandable, illustrative format to non-technical audiences.
- Performs basic and advanced statistical analyses with quantitative and qualitative data.
- Leads collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver relevant data-driven solutions.
- Ensures data privacy and security compliance in all data handling and processing activities.
- Stays updated with the latest data analysis tools, techniques, and industry trends for continuous improvement.
- Researches technical issues and provides solutions; makes technological recommendations for improvements.
- May assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
- Uses findings to make data-driven recommendations for practices, programming, and policies.
- Prepares and completes ad-hoc reporting requests, summaries, and presentations.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Two (2) years of experience in a relevant field, including but not limited to data analysis or statistical modeling
- Ability to pass a Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) background check.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Prior professional experience working in a school environment.
