Security Engineer
Senior Cybersecurity Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and operating resilient security solutions for command, control, and communications systems, leveraging cloud platforms, SIEM, and threat‑hunting techniques to protect mission‑critical Air Force networks.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement security architectures for C3C and battle‑network systems, ensuring compliance with DoD and Air Force security standards.
- Develop and maintain automated security controls and DevSecOps pipelines across cloud and on‑premise environments.
- Operate and tune SIEM platforms, conduct real‑time monitoring, and lead incident response for high‑impact security events.
- Perform threat‑hunting, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and remediate risks.
- Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and mission stakeholders to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably within defense or federal environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
- Proficiency with SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, QRadar) and incident response frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability in network security, threat hunting, and vulnerability management.
- Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) and familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies (RMF, NIST 800‑53).
