Senior Controls Design Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Controls Design Engineer, you will lead the design, review, and standardization of EPMS and BMS control systems across hyperscale data center projects. This role exists to ensure controls architectures, sequences of operation, and monitoring systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with Switch standards.

What You Will Do

Lead EPMS and BMS controls design across multiple hyperscale data center projects, review controls designs and documentation, resolve design issues, develop and maintain Division 25 documentation and controls standards, and lead development and standardization of sequences of operation for mechanical and electrical systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in controls design, BAS/BMS, EPMS, or mission-critical controls environments
• Advanced knowledge of EPMS and BMS platforms
• Experience with HVAC controls, mechanical systems, and mission-critical infrastructure
• Experience developing and reviewing sequences of operation for complex facilities
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power monitoring systems, and controls integration
• Experience managing external design consultants and multidisciplinary project teams
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and controls network diagrams
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
