Software Engineer
Lead end‑to‑end COMSEC support for a large DoD contract, driving policy implementation, encryption management, and secure network operations across enterprise‑wide IT environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain COMSEC solutions across Windows and Linux platforms, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards.
- Implement and enforce encryption policies, key management, and secure communication protocols for mission‑critical systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate COMSEC controls into new and legacy applications.
- Provide technical guidance and training to internal stakeholders on COMSEC best practices and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in communications security, encryption, and network security within a DoD or federal environment.
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and network security tools (e.g., VPN, TLS, IPsec).
- Strong knowledge of DoD security policies, NIST SP 800 series, and COMSEC standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for documenting procedures and training non‑technical staff.
