Devops Engineer
Senior Cloud Engineer who will coach DoD program teams on Microsoft Azure, deliver hands‑on guidance, develop automated pipelines, and ensure cloud solutions meet strict Department of Defense compliance standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Azure subject‑matter expert, providing coaching, training, and hands‑on support to program teams across the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.
- Design, implement, and optimize Azure architectures that meet DoD security and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code templates (ARM, Bicep, Terraform) and automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with developers and operations to embed best practices for cloud‑native development, monitoring, and cost management.
- Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and remediation activities to ensure continuous compliance with DoD cloud policies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and managing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong proficiency with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- Deep knowledge of DoD cloud security frameworks (e.g., DISA STIG, FedRAMP, DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide).
- Expertise in scripting and automation using PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to mentor technical teams and drive adoption of cloud best practices.
