About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the cloud database strategy, architecture, and golden path patterns for GCP environments.
- Lead technical design and implementation of SQL and NoSQL database solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and high availability.
- Drive AI integration initiatives, enabling data pipelines and analytics that support machine learning workloads.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering to standardize security, compliance, and operational best practices across the organization.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cloud database engineering, with deep expertise in GCP services such as Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Spanner.
- Proven track record designing and deploying large‑scale, highly available database architectures.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning for both relational and NoSQL systems.
- Experience with AI/ML data pipelines and integrating data services with AI workloads.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
