Backend Engineer
Lead the design, development, and operation of domain‑specific collection search services, driving search quality, ranking, and recommendation across news, places, finance, sports, music, and movies using Python, Java, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and AWS.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable backend systems for multi‑domain collection search services (news, places, finance, sports, music, movies).
- Design and implement search, ranking, and recommendation pipelines to improve search quality and user experience.
- Operate and optimize search infrastructure, ensuring high availability, low latency, and robust monitoring.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead performance tuning, capacity planning, and continuous improvement of search services.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python and Java.
- Deep knowledge of search technologies such as Elasticsearch and ranking algorithms.
- Hands‑on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.
