Backend Engineer
Lead the design, development, and operation of a high‑performance data platform that ingests, cleans, and serves global weather, news, finance, and sports data using Python, SQL, and AWS services, ensuring real‑time accuracy and scalability.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines for global weather, news, finance, and sports feeds.
- Design data models and schemas that support real‑time querying and analytics.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for data serving with high availability.
- Deploy services on AWS using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes or ECS.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to refine data quality and feature delivery.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve system reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience in data‑centric environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and AWS services (RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS).
- Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and API design.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
