In this role, you will design and develop scalable services, intelligent data pipelines, and high-performance APIs that enable advanced search, retrieval, and analytics capabilities for engineering teams. Working closely with Product, AI, Design, and Engineering, you will solve complex technical challenges while shaping the architecture of a rapidly evolving SaaS platform. Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting AI-powered product capabilities.
- Build and optimize retrieval pipelines, search infrastructure, APIs, and cloud-native services for high-performance applications.
- Improve search relevance, data processing pipelines, system reliability, observability, and overall backend performance.
- Design architectures that efficiently organize and retrieve structured and unstructured knowledge across large datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI, Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Contribute to the evolution of intelligent features such as knowledge retrieval, reporting, dashboards, and engineering insights.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing production-grade backend software.
- Strong expertise in Python and modern backend development frameworks.
- Proven experience building APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and scalable backend architectures.
- Solid understanding of databases, data modeling, system design, and performance optimization.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data in complex software environments.
- Ability to make sound architectural decisions in evolving product landscapes with ambiguous requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with AI-powered applications, LLM workflows, semantic search, RAG architectures, vector databases, event-driven systems, or enterprise SaaS platforms is considered an asset.
