About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the audio systems architecture across all Apple devices, ensuring seamless integration of capture, processing, routing, and rendering pipelines.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to translate product requirements into scalable, high‑performance audio solutions.
- Lead technical reviews, architecture discussions, and design trade‑offs, providing mentorship to junior engineers.
- Drive performance optimization, latency reduction, and power efficiency for audio processing on embedded and mobile platforms.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging audio codecs, and signal‑processing research to inform product strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in audio engineering, with deep expertise in DSP and embedded audio systems.
- Proficiency in C++ and experience with iOS/macOS audio frameworks (Core Audio, AudioUnit, AVFoundation).
- Strong background in real‑time audio processing, low‑latency design, and power‑constrained environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of leading cross‑functional technical initiatives.
