Systems Engineer
Lead the design and deployment of AI‑driven flight control and sensor fusion systems for an all‑electric VTOL aircraft, leveraging Python, C++, ROS, and deep learning to achieve real‑time, safe, and efficient autonomous operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement AI algorithms for flight control, navigation, and obstacle avoidance on embedded hardware.
- Develop and maintain ROS‑based pipelines for sensor fusion (LiDAR, cameras, IMU) and real‑time data processing.
- Design, train, and validate deep learning models (e.g., CNNs, RNNs) for perception tasks such as object detection and trajectory prediction.
- Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to integrate AI modules into the aircraft’s avionics stack, ensuring compliance with safety and certification standards.
- Conduct performance profiling, optimization, and rigorous testing (simulation and flight trials) to meet latency and reliability targets.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with a strong background in embedded and real‑time systems.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ with extensive ROS experience.
- Hands‑on expertise in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and model deployment on edge devices.
- Solid understanding of aerospace flight dynamics, control theory, and safety‑critical software development.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, strong communication, and a passion for sustainable aviation technology.
