Research Engineer
Lead advanced AI research to enhance automated plan review and building code compliance, leveraging Python, deep learning, NLP, and computer vision on cloud infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop state‑of‑the‑art AI models for automated plan review, code compliance detection, and document understanding.
- Lead end‑to‑end research pipelines, from data collection and annotation to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into the Guided AI Plan Review™ platform.
- Publish research findings, contribute to patents, and stay current with emerging AI techniques relevant to construction and permitting domains.
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of scientific rigor and rapid experimentation.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience building and deploying deep learning models, especially in NLP or computer vision.
- Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) for scalable training and inference.
- Strong publication record and ability to translate research into production‑ready solutions.
