Senior AI Engineer leading the design and implementation of an agentic AI layer for a high‑volume refund protection platform, leveraging Python, ML, NLP, and cloud services to deliver compliant, frictionless refund experiences at checkout.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop the end‑to‑end AI layer that interfaces with existing platform APIs, enabling partner AI agents to offer, explain, and fulfill refund solutions in real time.
- Design and train machine learning models for intent detection, risk scoring, and personalized refund recommendations, ensuring high accuracy and compliance.
- Implement scalable, containerized services on AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3) with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and automated testing.
- Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to define feature requirements, iterate on user feedback, and optimize performance.
- Document architecture, data flows, and best practices; mentor junior engineers on ML engineering and cloud deployment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production‑grade AI/ML systems in Python.
- Strong background in NLP, sequence modeling, and model deployment at scale.
- Proficiency with AWS services, Docker, and CI/CD tooling.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Effective communicator with a track record of mentoring and cross‑functional collaboration.
