Senior Actuation Systems Engineer - Schneller
Systems Engineer
Lead the design, development, and verification of high‑power density control actuation systems for military and aerospace applications, applying systems engineering principles and model‑based design tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define, design, and implement control actuation systems from concept through test and entry‑into‑service, adhering to military and aerospace standards.
- Develop and manage system requirements, decompose customer needs, and allocate them to hardware, software, and mechanical components.
- Create and validate system models using MATLAB/Simulink and perform model‑based design, simulation, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
- Lead integration of embedded firmware (C/C++) with power electronics and mechanical actuation hardware, ensuring compliance with DO‑178C/DO‑254 where applicable.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—mechanical, electrical, software, and test engineering—to verify system performance and resolve issues.
- Produce technical documentation, test plans, and verification reports for certification and field deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in control systems and actuation design for defense or aerospace programs.
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++ development and real‑time control firmware.
- Strong hands‑on experience with MATLAB/Simulink, model‑based design, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
- Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., MIL‑STD, DO‑178C, DO‑254) and ability to produce compliant documentation.
