Role Description

BAE Systems have been contracted to undertake the design and build of a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) to support the cyber defence of a major international defence programme. The information, systems and networks to be protected will be a mix of Microsoft Cloud services and on-premises data centres straddling multiple regions and classification levels.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual with excellent technical and client-facing skills, to act as Solution Design Authority and Chief Engineer to lead, architect and design Security Operations Centre solutions delivered to customers. This is a senior role and the individual will be expected to lead and shape whole solutions across Services, People, Policy and Process, Technology and Physical Infrastructure layers and lead teams to meet requirements and achieve objectives. This role is situated within our Defence Business unit and requires a minimum of SC clearance, ideally DV clearance.

• Engage with client stakeholders to understand and/or define security requirements, including any accreditation requirements.
• Chief Engineer and engineering leadership & management for delivery of security Operations Centre solutions through all stages of the engineering lifecycle from concept, through requirements definition, design & build to transition into service operation.
• Technical Design Authority and technical lead for the architecture and design for SOC solutions (across service, people, process, technology and physical layers) including input to CONOPS, high level designs, low level designs and deployment level designs.
