Security Architect (Cleared - Future Opportunity) Location: Remote Clearance : Active TS Required (Q Clearance Preferred) Compensation : Anticipated range $95k - $160k (based on experience) Security Architect
August Schell is seeking cleared Security Architects to support anticipated federal cybersecurity initiatives. Qualified candidates will be considered for future opportunities aligned with enterprise security architecture, compliance, and secure system implementatino efforts. Candidates may be considered at all levels based on experience, technical depth, and leadership capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and guide implementation of enterprise and system-level security architecture throughout the development lifecycle
- Translate federal security requirements, laws, and regulations into technical design controls and processes
- Develop secure system architectures aligned with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), FISMA, and related federal standards
- Integrate security controls across enterprise platforms and cloud/on-prem environments
- Provide technical leadership on architecture decisions, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance alignment
- Contribute to or lead technical deliverables and performance objectives as assigned
- Evaluate existing system security posture and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and program stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearnce required
- Ability to obtain Q Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity or security architecture experience (level dependent)
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal programs or regulated enviornments
- Experience with NIST RMF, FISMA, Zero Trust architectures, or federal cloud security standards
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Exisiting Q Clearance
