Security Engineer
Security Analyst responsible for monitoring, advising, and managing IT security controls, incident response, and policy development using SIEM and vulnerability tools to protect agency systems and workflows.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM tools to detect and respond to incidents.
- Develop, publish, and maintain information security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices.
- Coordinate and execute security projects, including risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation plans.
- Lead incident response activities, conduct post‑incident reviews, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure security controls are integrated into system design and operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT security, incident response, and policy development.
- Strong knowledge of network security, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms and security monitoring tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide limited leadership to junior staff.
