Software Engineer
A hands‑on Scientist role focused on designing and executing molecular cloning workflows while developing automated, robotic solutions using Python and LIMS to increase throughput and data integrity.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot molecular cloning projects including PCR, Gibson assembly, and restriction‑enzyme based methods.
- Develop, program, and maintain laboratory automation platforms (liquid‑handling robots, plate readers) to streamline cloning workflows.
- Write and maintain Python scripts for data handling, instrument control, and integration with LIMS.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate experimental protocols into scalable, automated processes.
- Document procedures, generate reports, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field with 2+ years of hands‑on cloning experience.
- Proficiency in Python programming and experience interfacing with laboratory instruments.
- Demonstrated experience with laboratory automation hardware and LIMS integration.
- Strong knowledge of PCR, DNA assembly techniques, and standard molecular biology protocols.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
