We are currently seeking an experienced
SCADA Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
to support a major offshore wind development project in Northern Europe. This freelance position is primarily remote-based with regular travel within EU and other project locations as required.

Responsibilities
As part of the project team, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the design, engineering, configuration, and implementation of SCADA systems for offshore wind assets
- Reviewing SCADA architectures, network and communication concepts, system specifications, and interface documentation
- Coordinating SCADA integration between wind turbine generators, offshore substations, export systems, auxiliary systems, and onshore control centres
- Defining and reviewing signal lists, data-point mappings, alarms, events, controls, and system interfaces
- Supporting the integration of PLC, RTU, HMI, historian, condition-monitoring, and related control systems
- Ensuring compliance with project cybersecurity requirements, communication standards, grid-code requirements, and client specifications
- Reviewing communication protocols and interfaces, including IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, and other applicable protocols
- Supporting factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, system integration testing, commissioning, and handover activities
- Investigating and resolving SCADA communication, integration, and performance issues
- Coordinating technical activities with OEMs, contractors, package managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Reviewing supplier documentation and monitoring the closure of technical comments, interface issues, and non-conformities
- Supporting the preparation of test procedures, commissioning documentation, technical reports, and as-built documentation
