Satellite Subsystem System Engineer - SAIC
Systems Engineer
Design, integrate, and validate satellite subsystems for defense and intelligence missions, applying model‑based systems engineering, RF/power expertise, and rigorous requirements management in a TS/SCI environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and integration of satellite subsystems (e.g., communications, power, thermal, RF) to meet mission performance and schedule goals.
- Develop and maintain system architecture models using Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Translate high‑level mission requirements into detailed subsystem specifications and verification plans.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams, including hardware, software, and test engineers, to ensure seamless subsystem interfaces.
- Conduct trade studies, risk analyses, and performance simulations to optimize subsystem designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in satellite or space‑system engineering, with hands‑on work on RF, power, or thermal subsystems.
- Proficiency in MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, MagicDraw) and requirements management platforms (e.g., DOORS).
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain) and eligibility for a polygraph.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
