Safety Engineer - Long Range Missile Systems - Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive safety analysis and risk assessments for long‑range missile systems, applying FMECA and reliability engineering principles.
• Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety case, hazard analysis, and risk mitigation plans, in compliance with MIL‑STD and DoD regulations.
• Collaborate with systems, design, and test teams to integrate safety requirements early in the development lifecycle.
• Lead safety reviews, audits, and inspections, providing expert guidance on safety best practices and corrective actions.
• Support certification and qualification activities, ensuring all safety milestones are met on schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of safety engineering experience in missile or aerospace systems.
• Deep knowledge of MIL‑STD safety standards, FMECA methodology, and reliability engineering tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high‑security environment.
