Research Engineer
Lead research and development of AI‑driven space systems, designing algorithms, perception pipelines, and real‑time software for defense‑grade platforms while maintaining required security clearance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced machine‑learning and computer‑vision algorithms for space‑based sensing and navigation.
- Develop real‑time software components in Python and C++ within ROS and embedded environments.
- Integrate AI models into Lattice OS‑based platforms, ensuring robust performance on constrained hardware.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prototype, test, and field‑validate space special‑project prototypes.
- Document research findings, produce technical reports, and contribute to intellectual property generation.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field with a focus on AI/ML.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++ and experience with ROS or similar middleware.
- Proven expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and embedded systems development.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in fast‑paced, interdisciplinary teams.
