Devops Engineer
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable research infrastructure for a health data platform, leveraging Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud services to support AI/ML workloads and hybrid cloud environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and operate containerised workloads on Kubernetes clusters across on‑premise and public cloud environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible, ensuring reproducibility and compliance with ISO27001 standards.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline code delivery, testing, and monitoring for research applications.
- Collaborate with data scientists and researchers to optimise platforms for AI/ML workloads, including GPU provisioning and resource scaling.
- Maintain security hardening, patch management, and incident response processes for the Trusted Research Environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Linux system administration and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting skills in Python (or similar) and familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid cloud networking.
- Understanding of security best practices, ISO27001 compliance, and privacy‑preserving data handling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary research teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
