Research Fellow on Machine Learning for Perceptual Quality Prediction of Spatial Music - University of Surrey

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning and AI models for perceptual quality assessment of spatial music signals.
• Conduct research on signal processing techniques and spatial audio representations to support model development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing to integrate findings into broader research projects.
• Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
• Mentor graduate students and contribute to the academic community through workshops and seminars.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent experience in machine learning, signal processing, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Proven track record of publishing in high‑impact venues on audio, music, or perceptual quality topics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
