AI Engineer
Research Fellow role developing generative AI models for molecular design to combat antimicrobial resistance, using Python, deep learning, and cheminformatics within a collaborative academic‑industry environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement generative AI algorithms for de‑novo molecular design targeting antimicrobial resistance.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for chemical datasets, including preprocessing, feature extraction, and storage.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (biology, chemistry, clinical) to translate AI outputs into experimentally testable candidates.
- Publish research findings in high‑impact journals and present at conferences.
- Mentor graduate students and contribute to the broader research community through workshops and code releases.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Proven expertise in generative models (e.g., VAEs, GANs, diffusion models) applied to molecular or chemical data.
- Solid understanding of cheminformatics tools and molecular modeling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of collaborative, interdisciplinary research.
