Research Engineer, Domain Scaling - Anthropic

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to enhance Claude’s performance on domain‑specific knowledge tasks.
• Curate and synthesize large, high‑quality datasets from real‑world and synthetic sources.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate domain expertise into model training pipelines.
• Analyze model outputs, identify failure modes, and propose targeted improvements.
• Document findings and contribute to internal research publications and technical reports.

Requirements

• Strong background in machine learning and natural language processing.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with data engineering workflows.
• Experience creating or working with synthetic data for model training.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration in a fast‑moving research environment.
