Research Data Scientist - Veterans Health Administration

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy predictive models and analytical frameworks using Python and R to support VA research initiatives.
• Extract, clean, and transform large healthcare datasets with SQL, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis within a healthcare or research environment.
• Strong programming skills in Python and R, with proficiency in libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, ggplot2, and dplyr.
• Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation from relational databases.
• Excellent communication skills, able to present complex analyses to non‑technical stakeholders.
