Software Engineer
Lead a university‑wide AI and GPU compute capability, overseeing strategy, operations, and a small technical team while delivering high‑performance research computing solutions using Python and CUDA.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and operational ownership of the AI and GPU compute platforms supporting university research.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of engineers and researchers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Design, implement, and optimise high‑performance computing environments, including GPU clusters and AI workloads.
- Develop and maintain software toolchains and frameworks (e.g., Python, CUDA) for scalable AI research.
- Partner with academic and industry stakeholders to align compute resources with emerging research needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in AI, machine‑learning workloads and GPU‑accelerated computing.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Python, CUDA, and HPC infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to manage and develop technical teams.
- Track record of delivering scalable compute solutions in a research or academic environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
