Research Associate - Signal Processing & Machine Learning for 6G Networks - Loughborough University

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced signal‑processing algorithms for the physical layer of next‑generation 6G communication systems.
• Develop and train machine‑learning models to enhance channel estimation, beamforming, and interference mitigation.
• Integrate algorithms into a USRP‑based software‑defined radio testbed and evaluate performance in real‑time experiments.
• Collaborate with project partners, including the University of Southampton, to align research outcomes with broader 6G initiatives.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present results at international conferences.

Requirements

• Strong background in signal processing and wireless communications, preferably with exposure to 5G/6G concepts.
• Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for algorithm development and data analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with USRP or other software‑defined radio platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to apply machine‑learning techniques to communication problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborative research and publication.
