Software Engineer
Postdoctoral researcher will study LLM‑enabled abuse in digital advertising, build detection frameworks for automated scams, and create mitigation strategies using Python, machine learning, and NLP techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate emerging forms of large‑language‑model (LLM) abuse in online advertising ecosystems.
- Design and implement measurement frameworks to detect automated scams, manipulative targeting, and other malicious behaviors.
- Develop and evaluate machine‑learning models, including NLP and statistical methods, to identify abusive content at scale.
- Collaborate with faculty across computer science, commerce, and business schools to align research with interdisciplinary goals.
- Publish findings in top conferences and journals, and present results to academic and industry audiences.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on machine learning or NLP.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit‑learn.
- Proven expertise in developing and evaluating models for text generation, classification, or detection of malicious content.
- Experience with data collection, cleaning, and statistical analysis of large‑scale advertising datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a record of scholarly publications.
